Fish Sandwich Ideas

Chef Philman George Ideas & Inspiration

Seafood is the fastest growing protein across Canada. Here are a few ideas for fish sandwiches, which take little effort to prepare and are jammed packed with flavour.

Our Dip't & Dusted™ Haddock is a unique product. It’s a cross between a battered and a breaded fish fillet. What I like most about it is the southern style flavour. I’ve had this on display for sampling at food shows. Any time I get people passing by the booth saying they don’t like fish, I have them taste this product. Many have been conquered and converted! This one was topped with a creamy corn & avocado salsa which complements the southern style flavours.

Our Pan Sear Select® products are perfect for fish sandwiches. This sandwich was made with our Roasted Garlic and Herb Tilapia and topped with a cucumber, red pepper & sriracha slaw. I really like the amount of bun coverage you get with this product. When the fish is slightly bigger than the bun it makes for a truly impressive presentation. It averages about 3-4 inches in width and another 6-7 inches in length. Extremely versatile, as it can be oven-roasted, pan seared or deep fried.

Our Krunchie® coating system is a bread crumb coating that provides a nice crunch and awesome base flavour. The Krunchie® coating is currently available with Ocean Perch, Haddock and most recently Basa. The above picture was made with Breaded Krunchie® Basa. I’m truly impressed at the low amount of oil pick up, so it eats light, instead of heavy and full of grease. It’s perfect to go inside a nice warm soft bun.

Stay hungry my friends!
