The New Year brings new products my friends!! Our Upper Crust™ portfolio has expanded to include our latest bold and exotic flavour creation - Caribbean Crusted Basa with Sweet Potato & Jerk Spice. Kudos go out to our R&D team for nailing the flavour profile on this one. The crumbled sweet potato crusting bakes up crispy, providing outstanding taste and crunch. The jerk flavour is just the right amount of heat and aromatic spice. I'm confident that baby boomers, millennials, kids and retirees will all love this product. It's a great introduction to the bold & exotic flavours of the Caribbean.

Perfect for the center of the plate! Combine with coconut rice and cinnamon glazed green beans for an authentic Caribbean inspired dish. Recipe can be found here. Sweet potato fries, caramelized/grilled plantains, roasted yams/potatoes, grilled/baked sweet potatoes are all suitable starches to combine with this product. For vegetables try sautéed spinach, collards, kale, green beans, roasted corn or my personal favourite sautéed callaloo.

Our Upper Crust Caribbean Crusted Basa is also suitable for light lunches/sharable appetizers. Now you can make a Caribbean-inspired fish taco with ease. Simply combine with tropical fruit salsa and you're good to go. Recipe for Caribbean fish tacos can be found here.

Or how about a Caribbean-inspired fish wrap! Some grilled pineapple, fresh avocado, spinach and jerk aioli. Normally when I’m making a fish wrap I have to consider adding something to give it some crunch. The sweet potato crumb on our Upper Crust Caribbean Crusted Basa takes care of that crunch factor, making it a very pleasant and fun wrap to eat. The recipe can be found here.

This product also makes an incredible salad topper! Tropical fruits like mango, papaya, kiwi, pineapple and avocado are perfect to add to baby greens and top with Upper Crust Caribbean Crusted Basa.
